Vision
The vision of the Taft Middle School counseling program is that all students possess the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to attain the highest levels of academic success. Our students demonstrate strong character and are responsible, respectful and honest. Students from Taft Middle School are ready to assume their future roles as lifelong learners.
Mission
The school counseling program at Taft Middle School delivers a comprehensive, data-informed program that helps all students, regardless of background or individual circumstances, to gain the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for academic success, career exploration and social/emotional development to become productive members of society. Students are encouraged to pursue academic rigor and inspired to be academically and behaviorally successful, self-motivated and respectful members of their community.

Students disclosure in the counseling office is confidential and private information unless a student reports:
- Harm to self
- Harm to others
- Student is being harmed or neglected by someone else
